Kick Tail Does In Cutler Final
Kick Tail (Sierra Kosmos-Victorious Tail) was a decisive winner in the $160,000 Arthur Cutler Memorial Final at the Meadowlands on Saturday night. With Berndt Lindstedt in the bike for Jan Johnson and owners Arden Homestead Stable, Kick Tail was away quickly from post five and on top to the quarter in :27.2. Unchallenged through middle fractions of :58.1 and 1:26.4, Kick Tail sailed home under a hand drive two-and-a-quarter lengths the winner in a career best 1:54.1. Alanjopa was second with Glorys Comet third and Georgia Limited fourth. Making breaks in the mile were Armbro Rusher, Magician Super Toy and Fool’s Goal.
“He had a solid season last year, but was a little tired at the end,” said Lindstedt. “It took a little time, but he has come back well. We hope to get a couple more starts in him here and then he may go overseas.”
Winner of the 1998 World Trotting Derby, Kick Tail is eligible to the Breeders Crown.
