Qualifying Results From The Meadowlands

Familiar faces were back in action this Friday morning at the Meadowlands as fifteen qualifiers were held. Rum Boogie was back for her third prep race prior to her Meadowlands debut in the Historic. Rum Boogie finished second to Custoamry Logo, a Super Bowl filly owned by Jules and Arlene Siegel. John Campbell piloted the three-year-old filly to a 1:57 win. Rum Boogie trotted in 1:57.2.

Lettheworldgoby and Midori Hanover were one-two in the second qualifier, trotted in 1:58.2. Mike Lachance drove the Cumin filly for owners Ameritrot of Versailles, Kentucky. Softly Dream and Exclusive Lavec were heads apart in the third qualifier with Mario Zuanetti prevailing over Jimmy Takter in 1:59.2. Sheraton Breeding Farm and Atalntic trot own Softly Dream.

Starchip Entrprise, apparently feeling much recovered from a sore foot, was an easy winner in 1:57.1 in his first prep of the season. He was followed across the wire by Americanese. Trainer-driver and co-owner Jim Doherty was in command from start to finish with the son of Pine Chip.

World Trotting Derby winner Kick Tail’s little brother, Comets Tail (Pine Chip –Victorious Tail) also performed well this morning, winning in 1:58 for Berndt Lindstedt and owners Continental Farm, Rylan Inc., and Mats Andersson. Billy Waldron was second.
