Great 3-and 4-year-olds show class!
A crowd of almost 5.500 came to the Solvalla-track to see a classy Wednesday-card with 3-and 4-year-olds in the limelight.
A great effort was made by 3-year old colt Home Alone, still unbeaten in four starts, and with a quite interesting pedigreee, as a mixed bred Franco-American from the best of bloodlines.
Home Alone is a son of the classic and international French stakes-winner, Ultra Ducal 1:56 (Buffet II) and out of Holly´s Finest by Speedy Crown.
Home Alone came three-wide in a challenge for the front, and took command after 800 meters in the 1 5/8 mile "Summer-Favorite", and then jogged home in the new Swedish record 2:01.4 over stayer-distance for trainer/driver Stig H. Johansson. Home Alone earned about $ 12.500 and the colt encouraged his trainer to give all sorts of superlatives, something not often heard from the Swedish Champion. Home Alone was winning easily ahead of Canbertil (Super Arnie) and Lucky Po (Quick Pay), who both seem to have a promising future ahead of them.
Home Alone is owned and bred by Tomas Bertmark in France (Stall K.G.B), where trotters of this caliber are named "cracks".
